This morning it was announced that Christophe Lemaire is leaving Hermès. The creative director of the luxury fashion house will present his last collection for the brand during Paris Fashion Week in October.

The designer joined Hermès as artistic director in June 2010 following the departure of Jean-Paul Gaultier. Lemaire is going to fully concentrate on his own label. His successor, as Hermès’ artistic director, has not been announced yet.

"Working for Hermès has been a great pleasure: a profoundly enriching experience on both a human and professional level. I am proud of what we have built together" Lemaire said today.
